Lounging Around

Last week was a long week...a doozy to be exact.  Isn't it just life to get you cranking along up hill...seeming like things are just peachy, then smacking reality in your face with a $2400 "routine maintenance" bill for your  vehicle.  Really?  I almost through up when the dealer called me with the news.  I know there are people in worse situations, and I am always grateful for what I have an what opportunities have come to me, but sometimes it's a bit much to swallow the bullshit and not want things to be a bit easier.  Of course they had my balls in a clamp, and not in a good way either.  They claimed I couldn't drive it out, so if I wanted to get a second opinion I would have had to deal with a tow, and more expense.  Of course the $3000 extended warranty I added when I bought the truck didn't include anything like this since it was "wear & tear".  So they called to see if I would approve the repair or not.  Sure, I don't approve the repair, I'd love to pay my monthly car payment and just use the car as a really large flower planter and park it in front of my building for my neighbors to enjoy.

So, out of the shit storm comes the ever present fact that Mr. is still my rock and always lends the stability and outlook that bumps come and go and we'll get over it somehow.  He truly is the first person in life that has been there for me in a way like no other.  Able to say exactly what I need to hear, and completely mean it.  Of course that just made me guilty for the pity party I had been throwing for myself, because I know there are plenty of people going through shit without anyone to back them up...but I've been there too, so I am one hundred percent grateful and appreciative of it all.  Just wishing life would give me a bit more time to get up hill before it kicks me in the balls.  I said fuck it, fix the shit and I'll pick it up when I figure out where I'm robbing peter to pay paul.  Wouldn't life just be easier if we all had a trust fund sitting waiting for stuff like this.  If all of our families thought long ago to make a little account for us that just sits accruing interest for lifes shit party to kick off...and just have it pop up and save the day.  Ah life...it's bitch when all you want is the beach.

Anywho, enough of that rambling.  In other news, I'll be taking donations to get Earl back...and hoping not to have to rely on installing video cameras around my house and putting it online.  lol.
We're just having a chill Sunday.  Slept in, walked the pups in the woods, and now i'm about to draft up the weeks grocery list.  Love the fall, but I hate the growing temptation to make big casseroles and crock pot meals that are not waistline approved.  But I think I'm going to say fuck it and just pre-portion them so that we not only have leftovers stocked, but I don't go without and then hit the point where I go full throttle.  We'll see...Mr. hates leftovers, so that's always fun to try to pass off in his lunch.  So, that's that.  Here's to another week coming up and hoping to get through it and still be able to float through to next payday...otherwise, I'll be on the corner in my short shorts.  :-)

Cheers - Rin

Friday Faves

So, second week coming to a close...besides having to go in tomorrow for a bit...but so far still feeling great about it and excited to see some growth in the biz.  Staff meeting went great and everyone seems on board with where we need to be and what we all need to do to get there.  Took the dogs in to the office yesterday to meet everyone and they did great.  It's always a bonus that they are so excited for car that they come home and sleep like they just ran a marathon...actually, they're both still zonked out after breakfast this morning too.

Today is a late start...I have to hang around and help close up today...so it just means I have to force myself to be lazy and lounge about more than feels normal.  I made a friday treat to take in last night...rice crispy treats, but with fruity pebbles.  So good.  I never was allowed to have sugary cereals as a kid...thank you mom and dad for being so wise...and so now sometimes they just seem like a good dessert option.  When we used to go to the cabin as kids that was the only time we were allowed to pick a "bad" cereal...and the farthest my rents would usually stretch was Golden Grahams...which by today's standards...actually doesn't seem that bad.

In other news I've been back on track with the new Interventions...I just get sucked it so easily to these shows.  It's either because of my psychology and behavior background...or because it makes my daily stressors seem like a party. Or a healthy combination of both.  Anywho...Hoarders is starting up soon too...and so I can only assume I'll be on board there and having my late night cleaning/purging fits just to ensure I am not holding onto anything for the wrong emotional reasons.  I am naturally an antihoarding individual...but I still have a junk draw and a shelf in a closet that seems to collect things I am sure I need, but have no use for now.  So, after I watch an episode of Hoarders, I am either purging one of those areas, or rearranging my spice and baking shelves to at least be able to sleep.

Well, for now I must shave, shower, and get the boys out on the trail.  Happy Friday - Rin

Laboring , not really.

So, it's day four of my weekend.  And considering a little over a week ago I was still in the midst of retail hell and a schedule that was beyond exhausting...I clearly have stepped in the right direction.  Started off Friday morning with a trip up to NYC.  We popped around and did some site seeing, ate great food with some of my old friends, and had some insane desserts in our hotel room...two words: Fried Oreos.  Saturday morning was perfect...slept in later than I can remember and had delish bagel egg sandwiches from a deli by our hotel.  Got the full NY experience when they quite quickly corrected my order of egg, cheese, and bacon bagels to bacon, egg, and cheese.  I forgot you had to say it in a specific order.  But they were worth the rude attitude to be honest.

Saw a show and hung out some more with friends.  Then we popped back home.  Felt like a week, but it was only two days.  I feel like time with Mr. slows down...and I love that.  I'm never bored and even when we stress out or things get frazzeled...we get right back on track and he just seems to make things go better. Yesterday we did some recovering from the whirlwind trip and delighted in a nap...a LONG nap.  Played with the puppies and walked the creek trail.  I am over this warm humid weather...and completely prepared for fall.  Bring out the hoodies!  I am itching to make pumpkin flavored everything...and even found a recipe to make homemade pumpkin coffee creamer.  Can't wait!

Mr. had to work today...so I ended up doing some work from home and making sure I was prepped for the week.  Still filling some positions at my new job, so until then I'm filling in some and covering a shift or two on the weekends.  Nothing could compare to my last gig, so I'll take a 5 hour shift on Saturday morning like I didn't even have to get out of bed.  It'll feel like vacation compared to weekends at my last job.

Anywho...making a shrimp stir-fry for dinner with veggies, egg noodles, and a peanut sauce.  I love peanut sauces!  That's about it.  Happy Labor Day! - Rin
